Hi! I'm Laura!

I’m a wedding and brand photographer for creative and adventurous hearts and and your resident work-life balance aficionado. I’m so glad you’re here!
My favorite thing in life is sitting out by my fire-pit with a glass of Riesling and a s’more in hand with friends and family surrounding me. I'm rarely ever found without a warm blanket wrapped around me, and If my wallet didn't frown upon it, I’d probably buy everything in Anthropologie Home and Free People.

This weekend was a double header which means, not just Saturday, but Sunday as well, I had to endure the 112 degree heat index. And you know what? It was totally worth every second!! Katie and Zack’s wedding this weekend at the John James Audubon Center at Mill Grove in Audubon, PA was simple, intimate and 100% them. With an intimate bridal party and a first look, this meant we had TONS of time for portraits which Jen and I were so excited about because this venue is GORGEOUS! I swear you can’t even tell it was 100+ degrees which is just crazy. Just trust me that we were all pretty much dying.

Katie and Zack met in high school during their freshman year being introduced by a mutual friend. They both thought the other was totally out of their league and would NEVER like them so they kept their secret crushes to themselves for YEARS. Fast forward to a couple years ago, when Katie, on a whim, wished Zack a Happy Birthday. From there on, they caught up on what each other had been up to, and hit it off SUPER well.

As Zack quotes: “I didn’t think it was possible, but she was even more perfect than I had remembered. So I finally decide that, screw it, I’m never gonna forgive myself if I don’t at least try. So I did. I asked her out for when I got back to America. Cue the sort of irony that you’d see in sitcoms. She had apparently been feeling a similar way about me for all these years. Haha we shared a pretty good moment of ‘We’re IDIOTS. WOW.’”

As a couple, they’re goofy, full of joy, always laughing and completely comfortable in each other’s arms. You can immediately tell that being held by Zack is Katie’s safe place and their silliness and amazing communication with each other is what I know will ensure a lifetime of happiness for them both.

When I got to the hotel, Katie gave me the bag of her details and I think my jaw dropped as I opened a little manilla file folder that had library cards taped to the inside because I looked further and realized that THIS WAS THEIR INVITATION! And Katie MADE THEM.  And then as if that wasn’t cool enough, she made all the bouquets, centerpieces, flowers for the ceremony, and dug up a tree from her parents backyard which they would plant during the ceremony.

After they were ready, just Jen and I along with Katie and Zack (seperately) went to the venue for their first look. It was perfect! After lots of twirling, smiling, laughing and kissing, we roamed around the property to take all their portraits before the ceremony. After hiding them away, we got ready for the most beautiful ceremony under the trees with the aisle lined with sunflower fields. The sun was setting and everything was perfect.

After all the feels, we wrapped up pictures with the family and bridal party and went to cocktail hour in the “barn”. They had the cutest signature drinks and there was an owl in there too!! Oh my gosh!

From there, we got the party started in the pavilion and topped the night off with a fire and gelato. In all honesty, you can’t get much better than that and I’m so excited that I got to capture this special day!

Not only did Katie make these, but she did it the morning of the wedding!
