In the back of my mind I always knew. I always said it. Since I was 2-3 years old I was telling people: I was going to be a wedding photographer. When I was about 12 years old I think my reasoning was the same as it is now (okay, maybe now it’s a little more in depth) but it was this: “I get to be around happy people all the time, on the BEST day of their life thus far, who wouldn’t want to be a wedding photographer?” So there you have it, and that’s so true today, every time I meet someone new and they ask what I do they have the same reaction.. “Oh that must be so fun!” Well….duh? I’m around the happiest people ever, on the happiest day of their life, my couples are incredible, and every day is different and I get to document something that lives on, forever. I get to tell stories, and document legacies that will last generations. And that’s the deeper reason, now that I’ve (doubled) in age from my 12 year old wisdom.. I get to create something that lasts. I get to witness relationships that will last a lifetime. Longer even. Generations. And how does that not make this the best job in the WORLD?
But more than that. More than creating beautiful pictures, capturing special memories, and more, I had 14 incredible 2015 couples that trusted me with these memories and brought me into their lives to tell their story. And as a result? They’ve become such a big part of mine.
This might be one of my favorite posts all year. Okay, who am I kidding? It’s definitely my favorite post of the year. I get to reflect on how far I’ve come, and how far I know I’ll go in the years to come. This business has been the biggest blessing this year, and I know it will continue to bring incredible people into my life. And the best part about it? My couples have become my friends, and there is no greater gift to a wedding photographer than that.
To my 14 amazing 2015 couples, you have blessed my life and my business in more ways than I could ever express. Thank you for trusting me, and for helping me achieve my dreams. I wish we could do this all over again in 2016!! Anniversary sessions anyone? Miss you all already.
To the incredible vendors I got to work with in 2015, your talents, passions, creativity, and vision made for such a beautiful 2015 wedding season. I hope our paths will cross in the future!
Thank you from the bottom of my heart,
Laura
