It was the perfect spring weekend for Colleen and Matt’s Cape May Engagement Session. Friday started out 85 and sunny until the storm front came through and brought some cooler weather. By Sunday, the sun was shining bright, the trees were budding, birds were singing, and people were riding their bikes. Finally, spring has arrived!
Scott and I were spending the weekend in Cape May soaking up the sunshine (and wine) and I was so thrilled that Colleen and Matt came up from Maryland to meet us there! When we talked about their engagement session initially they mentioned Charleston, South Carolina and I knew if we weren’t flying own there that Cape May would be the next best thing!
Instantly upon meeting them you could sense their connection and their love for one another. They made each other laugh, and when I asked them to hold each other close you could tell it just felt like home for them. There was so much laughter, smiles, dancing and hand holding as we strolled through the streets of Cape May. The victorian house were nearly meant for them as Colleen matched PERFECTLY with her dress! They strolled down the streets, sat on porches, and danced at Cape May’s Congress Hall. We ended the session on the beach as the sun set behind the town and it was a perfect full circle moment! Matt proposed on the beach in Ocean City so ending here seemed like the perfect end to our session!
This feels like one of the longest posts ever but they were just so cute and the locations were SO GOOD so we shot for a long long time! Enjoy!
Spring is in the air! And Love!Loved this absolutely perfect Victorian House!Matt has a thing for gas lamps, so these hanging at Congress Hall were the perfect backdrop!I call this my “Winnie the Pooh” pose. One of my favorites!!These cute little porches are to die for!So much laughter! I love it!Cape May’s Congress Hall was burned down in a fire decades ago and in 2001 they rebuilt it to it’s old charm! it is absolutely beautiful inside and out and was so much fun to walk the grounds! Plus, the Blue Pig Tavern had the BEST food.
That light!
So glad we had some soft sunshine coming through the pillars while they danced. <3 Their first practice round of their first dance!Love this one!GORGEOUS!I swear, every street in Cape May is absolutely adorable! i wish more towns had Victorian charm like this!
Then we went to the beach for sunset! It looks warm, but we were seriously FREEZING! It was so windy!!And then literally, they walked off into the sunset <3.
Colleen and Matt-Scott and I had so much fun spending a few hours with you exploring the town and I’m so excited you came up for your session! I can’t wait til your wedding day to celebrate with you more!07
