Welcome to the world, sweet baby Lana!! What a GEM! Another one of my amazing Laura Lee couple’s have become parents! Christie and Matt welcomed their sweet little girl, Lana into the world on April 24 and I had the honor of meeting her when she was just 12 days old!
Christie and Matt are one of my past engagement and wedding couples and they are truly two of my favorite people I’ve had the honor of working with – from the very beginning we connected like long lost friends, and every part of their journey has been amazing to be a part of.
Now – back to present day!
We did the session in their home – which is actually the home Christie grew up in – they bought it from Christie’s parents a few years ago and Lana’s room is actually the room Christie grew up in so it was extra extra special!!!! Lana is such a little angel and I had so much fun meeting her and catching up with them!
I got to their house around 1:30 – just after Christie and Lana’s checkup with the doctor, and from the moment I got there, Lana was calm and happy. She did SOOOO WELL at this session and I could have honestly been there all day long!!
Naturally, I wanted to photograph most of the session in the nursery since it held such a special meaning to Christie especially – and now it had been beautifully redone by Matt.
Matt did the whole nursery design – put everything together, painted it, gathered together all the books and toys and knick-knacks that will be a part of Lana’s life forever – and it looked BEAUTIFUL! It had a little dancer theme since Christie was a dancer her whole life – greys and pinks with touches of Matt and Christie everywhere! Touches of dancing for Christie, and a baby Yoda doll for Matt 😉 as well as some cutie lil stuffed animals from the proud grandparents!!
Once we started photographing Lana, she was on and off sleeping the whole session. We were able to capture her in so many different outfits, and I love all the variety we got! We started out in a white floral swaddle, followed by a beautiful pink floral swaddle, a hand knit ice cream cone outfit (more on that in a minute), a neutral swaddle, and a magenta swaddle with her new Lana hat from her grandparents!
Christie and Matt are OBSESSED with ice cream – we had even incorporated it into their engagement session, so it was only fitting that one of Lana’s outfits was a hand knit ice cream cone and hat! OMG it was the cutest thing ever!!! Her hat had a little cherry on top and I almost died from cuteness overload!!
We ended the session outside for a family picture – but by this point, Lana was hungry and quiiiiiite tired – we exhausted her for sure, so our nursery shots were definitely the winners. 😉
I hope to continue photographing Lana as she grows, cause man is she such a little treat to spend time with!!
Christie and Matt – you are such a joyful and loving couple! Your baby girl is so beautiful and I’m so thankful that I was able to capture this exciting moment in your lives!! I cannot wait to see what else is in the future for your beautiful family and I hope to be able to document it for you!!
