Hi! I'm Laura!

I’m a wedding and brand photographer for creative and adventurous hearts and and your resident work-life balance aficionado. I’m so glad you’re here!
My favorite thing in life is sitting out by my fire-pit with a glass of Riesling and a s’more in hand with friends and family surrounding me. I'm rarely ever found without a warm blanket wrapped around me, and If my wallet didn't frown upon it, I’d probably buy everything in Anthropologie Home and Free People.

There are so many ways I could start this post. Like how I cried 5 times at this wedding or about how beautiful Aimee looked in her BHLDN gown or how Matt had literally the BEST face when they were pronounced husband and wife. All of these things are true but the thing I want to focus on today is longevity.
Aimee and Matt were married this Saturday at FEAST at Round Hill Mansion in Washingtonville, NY. They were surrounded by an incredible wedding party with friends dating back since they were young, their wonderfully supportive and loving families, countless friends, neighbors, joy and laughter. Aimee’s grandparents, Joseph and Gloria, caught my eye immediately, though. Joseph and Gloria have been married for 67 years if I remember correctly from my conversation with Joe. They were so excited to watch their grandbaby get married to such a wonderful man and I couldn’t have shared in their excitement more. 67 years. 67 years of raising a family together, kids and grandkids, undoubtedly heartache and loss as well as celebrations and magical times, like this day. They are a symbol of what I know Aimee and Matt’s life is going to be like. [Dancing in their 90’s and all.]
Another symbol I noticed was where they said their vows. They wed under a tree that must have been 100’s of years old. It seemed to be the common theme amongst this wedding.  Longevity and being deeply rooted. The tree stood tall, towering over the entire ceremony space sheltering guests from the drizzling rain that began to fall just before the wedding party came down the aisle.  It meant so many things- to me at least. The trees roots grew deeper than anyone could see on the surface, as did their love, and when Aimee read her vows she stated the day she met Matt became the day she knew she could never live without him. [And now I’m crying again just writing this.]
Aimee’s Uncle Gary wed them and welcomed Matt to the family with welcome arms, although, it was only an official welcome as I know he’s been part of the family ever since he came around. Aimee’s family couldn’t have been happier that she found Matt- a caring, honest, loving, happy, hardworking and joyous man. And the same went for Aimee- Matt’s family told me time and again how thrilled they were to have welcomed Aimee as a new daughter/sister to the Masterson family and Alyssa’s speech [Aimee’s MOH and Matt’s sister] brought tears to my eyes immediately when she said that their stubborn Aunt up in heaven, whom Aimee is wearing her ring, would be so proud looking down on the women Matt decided to spend his life with.
And that’s the type of people they are surrounded with because that’s the type of people they are. Aimee has the biggest heart in the room, and as the wedding party stated, she’s the type of person you want to have around whether you need a good laugh or a shoulder to cry on. She loves the ones close to her unconditionally and it’s so apparent. Matt too, has one of the kindest spirits you’ll ever come across. He loves Aimee unconditionally, is always there for a good laugh, and from the stellar groomsmen party he had, you could tell what a great friend he was. I am so excited that these two came into my life and since meeting them over Skype a little over a year ago they have become such great friends. Love this suite from Minted! Cinnamon killed it with the detail shots! The coolest wedding dress from BHLDN!Love these two horseshoes from both of Aimee’s grandmothers. She attached them to her bouquet!

ANDDDD. That’s a wrap!
Aimee and Matt, I truly can’t tell you how honored I was to be a part of your special day. Your friends and family made me feel so welcome and Cinnamon and I had such a wonderful time celebrating you two! Wishing you a lifetime of love and happiness, but as Dave said, you don’t need luck. Keep looking at life and the hurdles it throws at you with the attitude you do today and you will have an incredible life together.
Thank you to my wonderful second shooter Cinnamon for documenting this day with me! I am so thankful to work with you and know you!
