Everything about this engagement session with Jess and Dave makes my heart smile. I am obsessed with sunflowers and my very first shoot as a photographer back in high school was in a sunflower field! The fact that sunflowers were also a part of their engagement story makes this session even more special.
Jess and Dave met while working for the same catering company. After some long and tiresome events working together, Dave asked Jess out for a drink.
A little after their 3 year mark of being together, Dave surprised Jess by taking her to a bunch of spots where they experienced their “firsts”…first date, first kiss etc…Dave would ask Jess if she remembered what happened and when she got it right, he gave her a sunflower. Then Dave took her up to an abandoned mansion in Peapack Gladstone nervously got down on one knee and told her this was where he started to fall in love with her and he planned on loving her forever. Her engagement ring has the diamond from his grandmothers ring in it and even though his grandmother has passed away, his grandfather could not be more excited!
Dave and Jess are such a joy to be around. Their love and devotion is infectious and obvious. We had such an amazing time capturing these images and I am beyond honored to capture their wedding this October!! Congrats guys! I’m so honored to be your photographer!
