Oh man you guys! This is one of the last pretty fall sessions you’ll be seeing until NEXT YEAR! That’s so crazy. Honestly, I still can’t believe I made it through October unscatched haha!! But when you have the best couples ever, working tirelessly for days on end is a breeze to be honest. And Liz and Kevin are just one of those couples!

I met Liz when she was a bridesmaids in her cousin Allison’s wedding. I seriously lucked out at this wedding with Bridesmaids- they were all so much fun, so caring, and so helpful to me all day! When Liz and Kevin got engaged soon after, I had my fingers secretly crossed that she’d reach out because her joy is so contagious!

Lucky for me, Liz and Kevin reached out immediately after getting engaged and said they wanted to know my calendar for fall of 2017 so they could book their venue around my availability.  To say I was humbled would be an understatement and after their engagement session I can say I am so glad they did this because I AM SO FREAKIN’ excited about their wedding after watching these two interact.

We had their engagement session at Warwick Winery and Distillery in Warwick, NY which is a place I love to frequent! Warwick in general is one of my favorite places to hang out so I was super pumped Liz and Kevin ventured out here!  We started off with lunch and wine and just chatted over pizza and a cheese plate. (Um, you guys are my favorite people ever already).

The story of how they met is one I love love love! Liz has been living with her brother and his best friend in Jersey City for 3.5 years.  Kevin happens to be the brother of Liz’s brother’s best friend (Aka her other roomie!) so Kevin frequented their apartment to hang out.  It wasn’t until their annual Oktoberfest party where Kevin showed up in Lederhosen that him and Liz really got to talking.  After hours of talking at the party, they became fast friends and it wasn’t long after that they shared their first date!

For their first date Kevin took Liz to Adventure Rooms in Montclair (one of those escape the room things) and then out to dinner. Liz said it was loads of fun doing something interactive and solving puzzles together as a first date. Since he was recreating their first date for the proposal, he actually drove there and then he quickly changed it up and drove up a nearby mountainside to the romantic spot that Liz didn’t even know existed. ANNNNND there was a giant rainbow in the sky when he got down on one knee!!!

Kevin lived in New Brunswick at the time the met, and Liz in Jersey City so when Kevin knew he was going to propose he printed out a giant version of their first date details text conversation, and attached was a sweet handwritten letter that at the end adapted that text convo language. He took her to Highlawn Pavilion which overlooked NYC, New Brunswick and Jersey City, all the parts of their story together. I was smiling ear to ear as Liz told me this story and I am just seriously so excited to share these pictures with you! Their joy is contagious and I hope this brightens up your Tuesday morning!!
