About a year ago I discovered how much I loved working with other creatives to elevate their brands doing lifestyle and brand photography sessions. There are so many talented creatives in the world and most of their iPhone pictures don’t do their work justice. This was the case for Leigh of Lovely Scribe Calligraphy.  When Leigh wrote a blog post for me a few months ago, she had no pictures to show of her work except for ones on her Instagram feed (taken with an iPhone). I really didn’t know the incredible talent she had with Calligraphy until I got to see her work in person and to be honest, was kind of shocked at how AMAZING it was because her iPhone was just NOT doing any of her work justice. 

She came to me a few weeks after that post and said she was ready to take her brand to the next level and do some photography of her products for her upcoming workshop and her Etsy shop! She also asked me to photograph the workshop so we could document the process of her art! And that’s what I love most about sessions like these. I get to see the heart and the process behind so many talented creatives and it’s incredible! In a world that’s focused on the finished, beautiful product, we neglect showing our process because we don’t think people would be interested in the imperfect. But there is so much value in the process, in the imperfect. 

Side note: SUPER proud of her for launching her first workshop which will be held with and at Hudson Paperie in Hoboken on April 6th. I can’t wait to see all the process of this ancient art form and see the work her students will produce. Leigh, you have such an incredible heart and I’m so proud of where your business is going.
