Something I love: a mountaintop engagement session at Bear Mountain.  Other things I love: two joyful, positive, uplifting, adventurous people in love.  And that’s pretty much exactly what Ashley and Joe are!!

 

I’ve “known” Ashley for practically my whole life but honestly probably never talked to her!! We went to church together when we were little but since she’s four years older than me, our paths never really crossed in Sunday School.

 

So, when I photographed one of her best friends weddings last June, we got reconnected! After meeting her and her fiance, Joe on the dance floor of Aimee and Matt’s wedding, I was keeping my fingers crossed that I’d be lucky enough to photograph their wedding someday! I actually don’t even know if they were engaged yet to be honest!!

 

So, naturally, when Ashley reached out to me I was JUMPING FOR JOY and then she said they were hoping to get married on top of a mountain in Vermont. CUE ALL THE HAPPY DANCES. They’re tying the know this September on the summit of Sugarbush and I literally couldn’t be more excited for it.

 

Ashley and Joe met at freshman orientation at Boston University in summer of 2006.  After being friends for 3 years, enjoying adventures and the snowboard and ski club together in college, they started dating in 2009. Fast forward to last summer when Joe proposed on the top of Mt. Mousilauke in New Hampshire when they were on a backpacking trip! After Joe proposed, they decided to camp out that night to enjoy the moment and pitched a tent off the trail a bit, to realize shortly after they were really only 500 ft from the road! Haha! But regardless, it sounds like the perfect proposal!!

 

So, naturally, since all their important moments are happening on mountain tops, it was a natural fit to photograph them on the top of Bear Mountain! Since it was due to rain the night we had planned and they were only in town for the weekend, we decided to shoot in the morning instead and I loveeee how they came out!!

 

I had so much fun adventuring to my not-so-secret-anymore spot and just love how much joy radiates from these pictures! There really is nothing I love more than a fun-loving, adventurous couple on a mountaintop who love to laugh together and that’s what my entire morning consisted of… so you can say I was pretty dang happy! Enjoy this mountaintop engagement session at Bear Mountain!! It’s a favorite for sure!! 

 

Ashley and Joe, I had SO MUCH FUN with you guys at not one, but the two weddings we’ve now been to together, shredding up the dance floor. I can’t WAIT til it’s your turn this September to say I do on top of a mountain and I’m so excited I get to be the one to capture those sweet moments! Cheers to many more adventures!! <3
