Anyone that knows me knows I’m a country girl at heart. I love me some country music, cowboy boots, and a bonfire and beer with friends on a summer night. This is exactly how Nicole and Joe’s Wedding day was. Nicole’s mom and step-father have a farm in the Crystal Springs Resort complex that has everything from country charm, to beautiful land, kindred spirits and a collection of vintage dishware that is to die for. When I pulled up for their wedding day there was hustle and bustle everywhere. John, Nicole’s stepfather, transformed an every day farm into a stunning wedding venue in a little under four months. All by himself (with help from family and friends). I was floored. I had gone to the house for dinner a few months before the wedding and I had no clue how they were going to finish all the work that had to be done by September. I mean, they were putting a commercial kitchen in the downstairs of the barn for Pete’s sake! But when I pulled up, the transformation was something I couldn’t believe, and it was absolutely perfect for Nicole and Joe.
Nicole and Joe were made for each other. With a shared love for farming, and hunting, Nicole requested they take some bride and groom pictures with their bow’s and it could now have been more fitting!
This blog is FILLED with details because every inch of the house and barn were transformed into a personal oasis of Nicole and Joe. Everything was done by their families and Nicole’s mom had a vision like you wouldn’t believe for all the amazing details. The whole wedding was DIY and to be honest, it’s probably the most beautifully detailed wedding I’ve been to! See for yourself!
I wouldn’t be surprised if my mom took that picture of Nicole when we were little. I’ve known her since the day we were born! What a special honor it was to be their photographer. Really coming full circle. The hot chocolate bar was delicious! This arbor blew me away. It was made by Nicole and Joe’s family friend and it’s craftsmanship and uniqueness was stunning. It was the perfect place for them to say I do. John, Nicole’s stepfather collects antique cars. This one made the perfect backdrop for portraits! And gosh do I love the color! She’s country. From her cowboy boots to her down home roots. I told you there would be a bow! The upstairs of the barn was transformed into a dance floor and it could not have been more perfect! Naturally, we all had to line dance.
Thank you both for letting me be a part of your day and your lives. I’m so happy for you and I hope your life and happiness continue to grow!
