What an amazing weekend I had! I studied abroad with Rachael’s sister Alyssa in Denmark back in college and she was one of my core best friends throughout my four months there and is a dear friend to this day. When she mentioned her sister was looking at my site for her wedding I was thrilled, both to meet her family and to see her again! Rachael and Dillon immediately booked after talking on the phone with Rachael for quite a while and the decision to come down to DC for their engagement session was decided shortly after. I was beyond excited to finally meet them and the results were amazing! Take a look!
“LOVE IS THAT CONDITION IN WHICH THE HAPPINESS OF ANOTHER PERSON IS ESSENTIAL TO YOUR OWN.”

If you’re not familiar with the area, we started out the session on the canals of Georgetown. I arrived a little early to explore the charming neighborhood as I had never been here before and was immediately enticed by the old world charm it presented. Cobblestone streets are one of my favorite things– something about them is so cozy to me and it really reminds me of Copenhagen <3
As you can see in the above picture, the love between Rachael and Dillon is just undeniable. We were so blessed with an amazing day, a gorgeous sunset and a charm with the location and the couple that just can’t be matched.
I adoreeeee this street and the way they look at each other. I am so happy to be a part of their wedding day and am so happy for you guys finding each other. Below are some of my absolute favorites, I’m totally a sucker for a good foot-pop-and-kiss moment (Princess Diaries anyone?) And to have it be in such a beautiful location is just all the better.
We started walking back to the car to go to our next location when I probably shrieked of excitement at the light that was hitting the pink flowers in front of the Ritz Carlton. We climbed up onto the wall and watch the sun go down as I captured these unforgettable, dreamy moments between Rachael and Dillon. I was probably as giddy as a five year old in Disney during these ten minutes…. As I’m sure you can see why. I mean seriously, HOW GORGEOUSSSSS ARE THESE TWO! (and the sunset!) That pink dress was just meant to be.
When we were working out the details of their session I asked Rachael and Dillon if we could end at the Thomas Jefferson Memorial. I had seen pictures of it and as a Design Student in college this stuff just gets me. Especially when you add in a gorgeous couple and a perfect sunset. We weaved through traffic and literally RAN from the parking lot up to the Thomas Jefferson Memorial to just catch the last bit of daylight the sun was providing us. To say it was perfect timing would be an understatement. We just caught the sun before it left the sky and it was MAGICAL.
There’s nothing quite like golden hour… <3

Rachael and Dillon, I am so honored that you have chosen me to document your love and your wedding day. It is going to be filled with so much love and happiness and I know your life will be filled with the same. I can not thank you enough, I’ll see you in October!
