Love is certainly in the air with this spring engagement session at Willowwood Arboretum spring for Kiren and Micah! If you’ve been following along, this is actually Kiren and Micah’s second engagement session! We’re doing a session in every season and I am just so in love with this idea! I might need to convince Scott to do this… (sorry Scott!)
Kiren and Micah’s winter engagement session was in my backyard in a tiny little patch of snow. We literally only had one tree to work with because all the others looked ugly with no leaves. So this time, having an ENTIRE ARBORETUM was quite the treat.
There are so many places to explore at Willowwood and every time I go I fall more in love with this little slice of nature heaven!
In the first few minutes of their spring engagement session, I saw a baby fox in the corner of my eye! We stopped shooting for a minute and the pup actually came right up to us and I got a few pictures of it! We were oohing and aahing at how adorable it was and then after it scooted behind the building, we turned the corner to explore another garden and there were 5 little fox pups playing in the field!! Their mom was staring us down so we made sure to keep our distance… not trying to get attacked by a fox!
We strolled through the gardens and enjoyed all the old homes in the arboretum. One of these days I definitely need to take the cell phone tour there! It’s such a cool place!! I kept saying that it felt like the secret garden (remember that movie?) and the coolest thing is that every time I go, I have the entire arboretum all to myself (and the couple haha!). It’s glorious!!
And incase you need a refresher on these two, here’s their story, as explained in my first blog post from their first session!
Kiren and Micah met In January 2015 at the Drew University library. They locked eyes and knew they were looking at someone special. After a 6 hour community game night with friends, it just so happened that by the time they both got there, there was only one seat left at the table so they HAD to sit next to each other. As Micah puts it, he was certainly not complaining!
After numerous encounters at chapel, Micah asked Kiren out on what would hopefully be their last first date! AND IT WAS!!
A few months into dating, they went on an extensive road trip with friends and after realizing how great they got along, they knew that this would be their forever love! Not too long after, Micah planned the most epic proposal ever, sending Kiren on a scavenger hunts of sorts where she had to put together a puzzle that gave her the next clue- kind of like Amazing Race!! The last puzzle piece led her to the chapel where Micah was waiting to ask her to be his wife!
I mean, HONESTLY!!! ARE YOU KIDDING ME! Micah, you’re wonderful and I’m so glad you guys locked eyes that day at the library because I have already loved getting to know you!

The session was SO full of love laughter and smiles. Honestly these two were giddy and holding hands like kids on a playground the whole time, and I am so THRILLED that I get to photograph them not once, not twice, not three, but FIVE TIMES!
Kiren and Micah, I cannot wait until our next session, I have so much fun with you two every time and I am honored to document your beautiful love story.
