Hi! I'm Laura!

I’m a wedding and brand photographer for creative and adventurous hearts and and your resident work-life balance aficionado. I’m so glad you’re here!
My favorite thing in life is sitting out by my fire-pit with a glass of Riesling and a s’more in hand with friends and family surrounding me. I'm rarely ever found without a warm blanket wrapped around me, and If my wallet didn't frown upon it, I’d probably buy everything in Anthropologie Home and Free People.

Someone once said to me: “Strengthen your wings and trust them to teach you to fly.” My entire life I have dreamt of being a photographer. I’d guess I was probably twelve when I decided I would be a wedding photographer but I”m not quite sure anyone took me seriously. However, without knowing it, people were listening to my childhood dream- I had been planting the seed for a decade for this dream I never thought could come true. I was ready to fly. Since taking the leap of becoming a business owner, Laura Lee Photography has grown into the most incredible adventure.  I get to meet people from all over the world and tell their stories on one of the most important days of their lives.  I seriously need to pinch myself some days that this dream I’ve had my entire life is my reality.

Despite how good it feels that I’m making my dreams come true (cliche) there are days where I really feel like I’m on the struggle bus. I can’t begin to count the endless hours I’ve spent up late, into the wee hours of the morning trying to get this business to take flight, or the countless hours spent still today trying to make my experience the best it can possibly be for my clients. But yet, it’s ALL worth it. Every ounce of sweat and tears and cups of coffee-I can’t even believe where I am in just over a year- I never stop hustling or trying to climb the next mountain but if you’re like me, just remember to pat yourself on the back sometimes- you are doing just fine! (This is what I tell myself)

But on the flipside, sometimes I just find myself breaking down in tears about how grateful I am to wake up every morning getting the chance to do what I feel like I was meant to do. I feel like I’m making a difference and that’s all I’ve ever wanted. I want to leave a legacies. I want to tell other people’s legacies. I want to to capture moments that take your breath away. Photography, to me, is so much more than documenting a day in your life. It’s about capturing the emotions, the personalities, the details, and all the little moments in between that make up your story. It’s about leaving your mark on the world- leaving your legacy for generations to come, and that- friends- is SUCH a wonderful gift.

I know this isn’t the typical pretty wedding post, but I thought I’d share the rollercoaster that this business has taken me on and I hope you enjoy it! It’s one that I can’t quite put down in words how grateful I am to be on the ride.

Strengthen your wings and trust them to teach you to fly.
