It felt like we were waiting on this day forever. Allison and Alex’s wedding day at the Double Tree in Tarrytown NY was finally here! They reached out to me about a year ago, before even getting engaged and took me out to dinner at the restaurant where they had their first date. It was so important to them, and to me that I know their story and tell their story in the best way possible.
Enjoy this extremely long wedding best and their beautiful love story!
Allison wore her mother’s veil and this was a truly special moment getting to put it on her daughter!
The STUNNING bride!
Allison and Alex met at a wedding, but not just any wedding. It was Alex’s best friend’s wedding, who happens to be Allison’s cousin Mike! And if you were at Allison and Alex’s wedding, you know this story, because we heard it through all the speeches and the ceremony! I loved it- it made the day so personal. At Mike’s wedding, both families tried to make some magic happen. A set-up was brewing, but Allison and Alex didn’t even talk that night. A few glances were had, but nothing more than that.
Two weeks later, Allison built up the nerve to ask Alex to hang out! Within SECONDS, almost as if he had been waiting for this text for weeks, he responded “what are you doing right now?”. They went on our first day that night at The Office restaurant in Ridgewood! (Which happens to be where they also took me for our first meeting!)
They had such a beautiful and special first look!
Just weeks later, maybe even days later, they both knew this was a forever thing. They contacted me shortly after and said they were getting married, booked a venue, but weren’t engaged yet! Luckily by the time we did their engagement session Alex had proposed.
Their wedding day was filled with so.much.joy. I cried, they cried, it was beautiful. They did a first look in the courtyard of the venue and lucky for us the rain held off ALL day and we got to do all our pictures outside! Their first look was such a beautiful moment. Alex was building up his anticipation and it all let out the second he saw how beautiful Allison was. They embraced for a long time, smiling, crying, laughing, soaking it all in, and all the nerves went away. All day long Allison couldn’t stop telling me how excited she was. “I don’t even think I’m nervous- I’m just SO excited to finally marry him!”
You guys, WHAT?!!! YOU ARE PERFECT.LOVE THAT LONG VEIL!!
These smiles are the best!!Alex’s grandfather was a gladiola (flower) farmer and Allison had her bouquet made up of them- it was such a beautful and personal touch!YAY for spring cherry blossoms!
Their ceremony was short and sweet, a story of their love. The day went off without a hitch, the party went on well into the night and we didn’t leave til nearly 1AM. Since Scott second shot with me and he went to school with Allison, we knew quite a few people there, including Scott’s best friends so we quickly changed into our dancing shoes and party attire after we were done shooting and danced the rest of the night away! There parent dances were so cute! This is always one of my favorite moments!
Allison and Alex, we had SO much fun celebrating the two of you and I know your love is meant for a lifetime. I’m so happy for you both and can’t wait to see what the next chapter holds.
And a major thanks for all the incredible vendors who made this day go off without a hitch! This day was truly beautiful and I’m so glad I got to document your work and work alongside you all!
