Holy smokes. I’m pretty sure I drooled for a solid 6 hours over these baked goods by Murphys Sweet Dreams for our baking photoshoot this week!! Seriously.  Colleen of Murphys Sweet Dreams is my super super talented friend and sister-in-law-to-be someday!! Since 6th grade, she’s been a baking fiend after watching the food network with her dad growing up.  She baked before that, but it wasn’t until 6th grade (when she could use the oven all by herself) that she really started to dive into this passion.

 

She reached out to me a few months ago about doing a photoshoot for her baking business that she does on the side, and I’m pretty sure I jumped up and down saying yes. I couldn’t say it fast enough.

 

I think I’ve eaten at least 50 different desserts that Colleen has made, and every single one is absolutely delicious. Seriously, I don’t know how she does it- I’ve tried a myriad of her cookies, pies, cakes, cupcakes, cake pops, puddings, breads, you name it. And every.single.one is spectacular.

 

If you’re having a party, an event, or just plain ol’ want some more cookies and cupcakes in your life, you haveeeee to reach out to Colleen! You will not regret it!!!!

 

We did a shoot this week of all the holiday good you could imagine, and I look forward to many more in the future!! We did this in my home studio, and it was amazing how excited I was all day- I’ve never done food photography before but it was SO MUCH FUN and I hope there’s more of it in my future!! I loved doing the styling and choosing the backdrops and coming up with a creative vision for each piece. SO FUN! And so delicious, whoa.

 

Colleen, I can’t wait to see where this takes you. You are so unbelievably talented it’s insane. I can’t wait to watch you grow!

Love these cookies for dunking in your coffee or hot chocolate!! So brilliant!!

This set up was by far the most fun to do!! Powdered sugar Christmas tree!!

I definitely learned a lot about styling during this shoot, and I found that captivating food photography is all about LAYERS. Adding the powdered sugar, berries and pinecones to this really made it pop!

I LOVED this cake!! We had so much fun styling a little wood area. If only we could have glued a cranberry to the reindeers nose, ha!
