Oh my gosh! I am so excited to share Krissy and Dave’s Wedding at Bear Brook Valley with you all today! Their February winter wedding was exactly what you’d expect – cold and a little bit snowy! Krissy did absolutely incredible with the wedding design with beautiful blues, whites, golds, greys and burgundy colors for their color scheme. Everything coordinated SO well and I was just in awe of her details all day! Krissy and Dave’s son Hayden was part of the wedding party and just WAIT until I get to the ceremony part of the day to tell you what happened.
But first! The details. Krissy’s bridal details were unimaginably beautiful. She had beautiful hand done calligraphy of their vows which my jaw was dropping over, and everything was so well thought out. Dave’s ring had Krissy and Hayden’s thumb print in it which was just about the coolest thing I’ve ever heard of. Krissy was so prepared and had beautiful ribbons for us to style with! PHOTOGRAPHERS DREAM! I loved the layers of her invitations and the calligraphy and fine artness of them. They were seriouslty stunning. I am so thankful to Florigraphy for the beautiful blooms to style with! I love the color scheme Krissy had for a winter wedding! And, not to mention, I was pretty obsessed with all the light flooding into this venue making it so ideal for detail shots and prep pictures
After I finished Krissy’s detail pictures, it was time for some fun with the bridesmaids! The upstairs suite where the girls get ready is a beautiful light filled silo which makes it a dream for pictures!! The girls got ready in the silo with hair and makeup by Facez. I love working with this hair and makeup team!! We popped a bottle of confetti and it was so stinkin cute how those photos turned out! We also did an awesome unique shot of Krissy’s dress hanging from the chandelier– Krissy has a great vision!
I knew almost all of the bridesmaids from a myriad of different places in life! Sports, high school, in town, siblings of friends, etc. It was so fun connecting with all of them again! When it was time to get dressed, Krissy got dressed with help from all the girls in her beautiful long sleeve gown as she got ready for her first look with Hayden, her son.
While the girls were popping confetti champagne upstairs, the guys got ready downstairs with Sara and I’m sure she had a blast with them! I know ALL the guys from high school since Dave and I were in the same grade, and I know this group had to be an absolute blast! They had awesome gifts with their initials embroidered awaiting them when they arrived. The guys prep room is complete with a pool table, pacman, a mini fridge and a bar! What more could you want!
Once everyone was ready, it was time for a moment everyone was looking forward to! Krissy’s first look with her son, Hayden! Krissy and Hayden did a first look in the Silo and it was so cute! He looked so handsome and it was so sweet to see them share a special moment! He looked so grown up in his tux, I can’t imagine all the feels Krissy was feeling in that moment!
After Hayden’s first look with Krissy we took the girls outside to the front of the building for bridal party portraits. I’m so thankful the girls endured the cold to get these shots! I loved the colors of their dresses (and think I might do my bridesmaids dress color in the same! While we were in the front, the guys were in the back taking portraits too!
After all the bridesmaids and groomsmen portraits were done, it was time for the ceremony! This was the most special part of the day! Krissy’s first father in law walked her up the first half of the aisle and gave her to Hayden who then walked her down the aisle to Dave. Hayden brought his mommy to his new daddy down the aisle! They shared personal vows which left half the room in tears, and then they had a surprise adoption ceremony where they put pieces of a puzzle together symbolizing their family puzzle was complete and Hayden was officially going to become a Hering too. The ceremony was officiated by one of Krissy’s best friends, Kelly, and I’ve never witnessed anything more beautiful!
Right after the ceremony, we took the whole wedding party outside for a quick photo, and then did family formals and then Krissy and Dave’s portraits! We started their portraits on the bridge, and then went to find a little bit of snow for some! We threw snow into the air to get one epic shot, and I had a tonnnn of fun with Krissy’s veil! (super long veil!) I love love love how Krissy’s bouquet popped with the burgundy flowers against the snow and completed and pulled together the whole ensemble between her and Dave. It was so great to have them get away for a little bit and have this time for portraits before going to the cocktail hour! And bonus, I loved working with the video team Lorenzo Media Productions ! We had a blast despite the cold!
Immediately after portraits, Krissy and Dave went to their cocktail hour and I went to photograph the reception details and BOY were there a lot! Krissy took such care in designing the reception space and the highlights include: garland on every farmhouse table, a donut wall and a beautiful small cake with their last name on it, touches of gold and burgundy everywhere, and DIY calligraphed signs. As soon as the guests came up, the reception kicked off with a bang!
Krissy shared a first dance with Dave to a beautiful song by A Day to Remember, followed by a dance with her father, Pepe, and then danced with Hayden! This was such a wonderful moment! Dave danced with his Mom which is always one of my favorite moments of a wedding day!
Toasts were given by Alyse, Krissy’s MOH and sister, Don, Dave’s best friend and best man who made everyone laugh, and both dads. It’s so clear how excited both these families are to see these two come together to form one family unit! When toasts were finished, we snuck the wedding party outside with Krissy and Dave for a quick mock sparkler exit and then ran everyone back inside for group photos, cake, and then finally dancing!
My favorite DJ was here working their magic, Global Productions ! I love this team and love getting to do so many weddings with them! (AND! They’re also DJing my wedding!!) Dancing ensued for the rest of the night and the dance floor was packed all night long! I snuck Krissy and Dave out for some night portraits on the patio under the bistro lights and then had a blast watching so many of my old high school friends get down on the dance floor! These two, and all their friends and family had an absolute blast!
Krissy and Dave, I am so thankful you chose me to capture your incredible day. I’m so happy for you both and love your new family of 3. The Herings have arrived!! I love all 3 of you and can’t wait to see what the future holds for all of you!!
