I’ve been dreaming of a winter wonderland shoot for quite some time now and the beginning of this winter just wasn’t cutting it with the cold temperatures and no snow to show for the brutal winter it’s been. But finally, the ground was covered, and my best friend was coming home for the weekend. The moment I got the news she was coming to New Jersey I rented a dress, went to my parents house, made a bouquet with my dad from the bushes in our yard, rummaged my great grandmothers furs, and put together my mom and dad’s invitation suite, complete with rings and my dad’s pocket watch. Of course it turned out to be one of the coldest days of winter so far, but the ski racers in both of us endured the blistering 4 degree temperatures because we knew how bittersweet the results would be. And then, to my delight, a literal daydream coming to life–it started to snow the most beautiful light and sparkly snow! We had SO much fun! I can’t wait for the next spur of the moment shoot, and I’m happy to know I can shop in my parents basement for nearly anything I may want.
I hope this inspires some of my winter brides for their weddings next year! I can’t wait to see the beautiful, personal touches you come up with!
