Hi! I'm Laura!

I’m a wedding and brand photographer for creative and adventurous hearts and and your resident work-life balance aficionado. I’m so glad you’re here!
My favorite thing in life is sitting out by my fire-pit with a glass of Riesling and a s’more in hand with friends and family surrounding me. I'm rarely ever found without a warm blanket wrapped around me, and If my wallet didn't frown upon it, I’d probably buy everything in Anthropologie Home and Free People.

Casey and Mike had their engagement session in Warwick, NY earlier this month at the bridge in town with all of the love locks on it. Then, we headed over to Applewood Winery to finish their session. Despite the weather threatening rain all night, their photos turned out absolutely perfect!

Casey and Mike have known OF each other since high school but did not end up officially meeting or getting together until much later on. In August 2012, Casey was out and about in Morristown with her brother Liam when they bumped into each other at Iron Bar.  Since Mike was friends with Casey’s brother back in the day, they ended up spending the night hanging out together. After their evening out and another run in the next morning, they started to talk a little over Facebook where they eventually exchanged numbers.

They have two different versions of their first date! The first is when Casey asked Mike to be her plus one at a mutual family friends wedding. This was not their official “first date” but they had an amazing time together at the wedding and knew they wanted to see each other again! After the wedding, they had another first date in New Jersey around Christmas time. This time, they went on a proper dinner date. They met at the Rockaway mall, went Christmas shopping, and then went to dinner at a restaurant nearby. This restaurant is now one of their favorites and it just so happens to be where they are having their rehearsal dinner!

After dinner, they decided they wanted to keep hanging out so they headed over to Morristown where they ended up at the Grasshopper. It just so happened to be their beer pong night! They played beer pong and darts and enjoyed each other’s company. Since then, they have gone through this whole night once or twice together, revisiting all the stops along the way – even the Iron Bar where they first met.

The Engagement

Last December, Casey and Mike were celebrating the end of the holiday season together when Mike popped the question! After a lovely dinner in Morristown, they walked through a Christmas lit Morristown Green, with a perfectly fresh layer of snow. With a Christmas tree in front of them, a full moon in the sky, and the Iron Bar in the background, he got down on one knee. Casey explains that she can’t remember exactly what Mike said, but knows that her response was “Absolutely! Please!” After the proposal, they got in the car to head home. They stopped by the frozen lake and sat listening to a few of the songs that had taken on meaning in their relationship over the years. Then, of course, when they got home, they opened a bottle of champagne and celebrated their amazing night together! I’m pretty sure I received a text from Casey with a picture of her hand with a ring on it the next morning!

Their Relationship

After a long week of work, Casey and Mike love to enjoy a nice dinner together relaxing, drinking a nice bottle of wine, and listening to music! They told me about one of their favorite dates together in Warwick and it sounded so lovely! They rented a car, visited some of the wineries, had dinner in Warwick and stayed in an amazing local Airbnb! I am dying to do this with Scott!  A mini staycation if you will. 🙂

They love visiting local wineries and breweries together. They also love to watch and play sports together when they get the opportunity! That’s why this was absolutely perfect that we did their engagement session in Warwick (where we started on the bridge over the river where many people, including myself, have left a love lock) and ended at Applewood Winery where Casey and Mike love to hang out on the weekends.  I can’t believe I’ve lived here my whole life and have never gone there! That is changing ASAP! Because of their love for sports, it was also fitting to end the session with a little rivalry soccer attire. I love that we got to incorporate this part of their relationship into their session, and this is actually how Casey and I met 20 years ago (playing soccer together!). ←– that was legitimately insane to write that number.

Casey and Mike are such a fun-loving and happy couple! They have the absolute best sense of humor and you can tell they are perfect for each other when you see them interact and laugh together! I’m SO over the moon excited that I am the one that gets to capture their love story.

Casey and Mike, I love you guys and had an absolute blast hanging out with you for your engagement session in Warwick.  Thank you for letting me be a part of this story and an extra thanks for dinner afterward. It was so fun getting to catch up and hang out! I am SOOOO excited for the wedding and can’t wait to celebrate your love.
