Hi! I'm Laura!

I’m a wedding and brand photographer for creative and adventurous hearts and and your resident work-life balance aficionado. I’m so glad you’re here!
My favorite thing in life is sitting out by my fire-pit with a glass of Riesling and a s’more in hand with friends and family surrounding me. I'm rarely ever found without a warm blanket wrapped around me, and If my wallet didn't frown upon it, I’d probably buy everything in Anthropologie Home and Free People.

What a way to kick off Spring! Amongst one of my favorite things to shoot is a Bear Mountain Engagement session and that’s exactly how my week got to start off with Sarah and Joey! We were watching the weather all week as rain and more rain and more rain fell on the area.  The forecast wasn’t lookin’ too good, but I wanted to wait it out until that day to call it and thank goodness we did!! We had the BEST weather!!

We started out down by Hessian Lake near the Bear Mountain Inn which is always my favorite place to start the session since the sun isn’t behind the mountain yet.  After enduring a heck of a lot of bugs down by the lake, we drove up to the top of the mountain and hiked to my super secret spot to capture the most beautiful golden hour and sunset!

Sarah and Joey both went to high school together, and met their Sophomore year in English class.  After a year of being friends, they went on a super-romantic high school date to Starbucks!  They shared their first kiss on New Year’s Eve and from then on, it was history!

Nearly 11 years later,  Joey and Sarah went to the bank because they were going shopping, when she came out of the bank, Joey turned to her and said that he loved her and asked Sarah to get him a tissue out of the glove box, when she opened the glove box to get him the tissue he had the ring in the glove compartment and asked her to marry him!  As sarah puts it, there was crying and laughing going on.  They’re getting married in NYC at City Hall next May!

Sarah said she loves everything about Joey and he makes her proud everyday.  More specifically,  she loves his loving ways, his sense of humor, the way he understands her, the cute little texts/phone calls she get throughout the day, and the list goes on! He loves her randomness, her giggle, and most of all her incredible personality.  No doubt, they’re the definition of opposites attract, as Sarah is reserved and observant and Joey loves talking to anyone and everyone! I love that they can compliment each other in that way, and I know these two will share decades of happiness to come!

Sarah and Joey, thank you for enduring all the bugs and the hike to my secret spot with me.  I hope you love these pictures as much as I do! I am so thankful that you have trusted me with these precious memories!

I can’t wait for my next Bear Mountain engagement session!
