Hi! I'm Laura!

I’m a wedding and brand photographer for creative and adventurous hearts and and your resident work-life balance aficionado. I’m so glad you’re here!
My favorite thing in life is sitting out by my fire-pit with a glass of Riesling and a s’more in hand with friends and family surrounding me. I'm rarely ever found without a warm blanket wrapped around me, and If my wallet didn't frown upon it, I’d probably buy everything in Anthropologie Home and Free People.

Earlier this month, I had a blast walking around Hoboken, NJ with Ashley and Doug for their engagement session! It was such a pleasure to finally meet these two in place that means so much to both of them. The lighting was absolutely perfect for our session. And better yet, I had the opportunity to hang with these two and learn more about their amazing love story!

Ashley and Doug met at a family party about 7 years. Their dads have been friends since they went to summer camp together (so cool!) so their families have been friends for a very long time. However, it wasn’t until this party that they actually got to talking and getting to know each other.

While Ashley was at school at Ramapo College, Doug came to visit and they went out for dinner at a local restaurant called the Office. After dinner, they went back to Ashley’s dorm and hung out with Ashley’s roommates. Ashley said that Doug wanted to act like he was in college again 😉

Fast forward many dates and years together later to their annual Thanksgiving weekend brunch at their apartment. Doug invited all of their parents and siblings to come over early and hide outside on the rooftop deck. Without Ashley noticing that anything was up, Doug was able to get her outside onto the patio and get down on one knee! All of their family popped out after he proposed (and she said yes 😉 and started running over. That Thanksgiving celebration was one to remember!

When Ashley and Doug are not busy at work, they love to just relax and enjoy each other company. Maybe a good movie or just an afternoon in the sun working on their tan 🙂 A perfect date for them involves going to one of their favorite restaurants in Hoboken, having a nice dinner and a few drinks, and then heading home to chill on the couch together and watch TV.

I had so much fun working with these two during their session. They were both so easy going and relaxed in front of the camera. We started at one of the parks along the river in Hoboken with a great view of the NYC skyline behind. From there, we wandered the sidewalks, parks, and streets of Hoboken. We even mosied over to a tiny beach along the river where we found an amazing spot where the light was peeking through the tree. This light just gave the images the MOST GORGEOUS GLOW!

Once I heard where Doug proposed, I knew we needed a picture there. So after heading to their apartment and getting a few shots on the rooftop patio, we moved to our final location of the session, Pier 13. We finished at Amanda’s Bananas, a food truck that serves the BEST frozen bananas with toppings (disguised as ice cream and oh so good!). Ashley and Doug love doing this together and it is right down the street from their apartment so it was a perfect place to end our session!

I cannot say enough great things about these two! Their love and affection for one another are evident in every single one of these photos. They are the perfect match! And I just loved walking around Hoboken with them – SO FUN!

Ashley and Doug, I can’t wait for your wedding in just a few months, I know it is going to be a fitting (and amazingly fun!) celebration of your love for one another!!
