Ever since I was a little girl, I had an obsession with stationery. This was clearly a result of my mom’s even bigger obsession with stationery and any scrapbook supply she could find. We had an entire ROOM dedicated to scrapbooking stuff in our house (and literally just a few months ago it got transformed into my office). We used to go into Staples and the local stationery stores and I would want everything in sight. I loved the colors, the texts, the cards, the cute gifts. I had no use for any of these things in my toddler years but I still wanted it all! This still holds true today and I have an entire cubby filled with cute stationery that will probably never be used! So, needless to say it was extremely difficult walking into Hudson Papery and not buying anything!
I walked into the shop on Washington St. in Hoboken and was blown away. Chelsey, the owner, bought the store from “Yes I Do” back in October and has kept it a thriving stationery store with the most beautiful invitation suites, cards and gifts in every aisle. Chelsey kept saying it was so unorganized but I thought it was pretty fantastic! I got to photograph a ton of their invitation suites (Chelsey designs custom stationery as well as running the shop!) and is crazy talented so I was thrilled to get to photograph some of their suites. We also got to do some headshot on the waterfront of her and her new full time employee, Katelyn! It was a blast hanging out with you ladies!
Like most of the woman I get to work with, Chelsey is a badass boss lady doing incredible things and I am so excited to see her little store grow into something incredible! She has huge dreams and I have no doubt she’s going to make them all come true.
And then, to top off all the goodness, I got to photograph their first workshop yesterday that they co-hosted with Lovely Scribe Calligraphy! We all know how much I love them! Stay tuned to see that next week!
