GUYS! Sydney here, Laura Lee Photography’s Associate Photographer. I had the most amazing winter engagement session this past January with Kara and Paul! After a couple emails back and forth we finally decided on the 2 most perfect engagement session locations. They decided on splitting up their engagement session at two different locations. The first one was the Appalachian Trail in Vernon, New Jersey. Kara and Paul are SO cute together and so easy to work with – I can’t wait for their August wedding this year!
We took the cutest photos on the boardwalk. They were such naturals when it came to posing, I barely had to direct them! They began to tell me about their first date. They went to Midland Brewhouse, got some drinks and appetizers. They ended up talking for over 3 hours! Funny thing is, Kara was originally not going to go but at the last minute decided to follow through and meet. Luckily she did! I feel like a lot of stories start out in a similar way! They continued to tell me about their dating life. Their favorite date was one they will never forget. They were in Zion National Park and got dinner at King’s Landing in front of the canyons. It sounds beyond beautiful and the perfect date.
I absolutely love Kara and Paul’s proposal story, it is so simple and romantic! It started out with them going on vacation together. They were in Charleston, SC. Within an hour of landing, Paul got so nervous he proposed on a bridge in Shem’s Creek. He was originally going to wait a couple of days into the trip but he just went for it! It was such a perfect way for them to start their vacation!
Together they love kickboxing, it’s their latest fad! They spend a lot of time with family which means so much to them. They are getting married on Paul’s grandparents property and that’s where we had the second part of their session! They showed me around the property and I had them take photos in so many different locations. I loved it there, it was so beautiful! They live on a lake which makes the perfect backdrop for photos. Paul wanted to get a few photos of the old Ford Bronco they re-did. Ford Broncos are a fan favorite in my family, my parents have been looking for one! We ended the session with some of my favorite portraits I have ever taken.
Kara and Paul, you two were seriously so much fun to work with and that makes me so so excited for your August wedding this year! I know it’s going to be nothing short of AMAZING!! I had so much fun getting to know you both more and can’t wait to continue doing so on your wedding day and beyond!! I know a lifetime of happiness and laughter is in your future! You’re both amazing!!
