Liz and Jason celebrated their wedding at Maritime Parc on a beautiful summer night in Jersey City overlooking the New York City skyline with their closest family and friends. I cannot begin to describe how much I am in love with these photos from the day! From the moment I met these two, I knew they would be such a perfect couple to photograph, so relaxed and clearly madly in love with one another. Their wedding day was nothing short of perfection!

Prior to shooting their wedding, I had the opportunity to hang with these two in Hoboken for their engagement session and really get to know them and hear more about how they met, their relationship and of course the proposal. Jason’s plan for the proposal did not come without a few hiccups’s but in the end, it turned out perfectly. If you missed their engagement session post, head over to the blog to read it now.

On the morning of their wedding day, Liz and Jason both got ready at the Westin Hotel in Jersey City. My second shooter and I photographed all the details and prep in one place which was so easy and fun. Liz’s bridal details were absolutely stunning and paired perfectly with her flowers and bridesmaid dresses.

After everyone finished getting ready, we headed over to an abandoned train station in Liberty State Park. The atmosphere and aesthetic at this location were A-MAZING. For their first look, we had Jason turn so he was facing the city view. When Liz walked up, he turned around and they both had the skyline in the background as they gave each other the biggest hug and kiss!

The abandoned train station was our location for all of the bride and groom portraits, family formals, and wedding party photos. It was so nice to have a smaller wedding party to shoot. Everyone was so easy and flexible even though it was a little hot in the August sun.

I am obsessed with the bride and groom portraits in front of the station.  I just love the look of these photos – some of these might even be my favorite portraits to date! The station gave such a unique view of the city and contrast between the station and Liz’s gorgeous white dress and Jason’s formal attire.

After all the photos, we drove back to the venue for the ceremony. The venue for the ceremony and reception were in the same place, the Maritime Parc in Jersey City, NJ. I had never shot here before and I absolutely love this venue. It overlooks the entire NYC skyline with floor to ceiling windows. You can even see the Statue of Liberty from the side windows.

Following a beautiful ceremony, all of the guests headed up to the wrap around balcony for the cocktail hour. It was so nice for everyone to get to enjoy the views and beautiful weather outside while the venue was flipped for the reception. It was amazing to see this process happen so smoothly and see the ceremony location transformed into a beautiful reception venue.

After the cocktail hour, everyone headed back inside for the reception. The rest of the evening was filled with heartfelt toasts from Liz and Jason as well as some beautiful first dances between, Liz and Jason, Jason and his mom, Liz and her godfather, and Liz and her brother. I loved how intimate this wedding felt and the city skyline views in the evening from all the windows made it such a special night!

I feel so grateful that I had the opportunity to meet these two and celebrate their love story this summer. Every moment from the engagement session in Hoboken to their bride and groom portraits really captured their love and affection for one another. I am so excited to share these with you and hope they will be photos and memories you cherish for years to come! Thank you both for letting me in and giving me the opportunity to share your story.
