Hi! I'm Laura!

I’m a wedding and brand photographer for creative and adventurous hearts and and your resident work-life balance aficionado. I’m so glad you’re here!
My favorite thing in life is sitting out by my fire-pit with a glass of Riesling and a s’more in hand with friends and family surrounding me. I'm rarely ever found without a warm blanket wrapped around me, and If my wallet didn't frown upon it, I’d probably buy everything in Anthropologie Home and Free People.

I kicked off November with a glorious, joyful and beautiful couple and wedding at the Publick House Historic Inn in Sturbridge Massachusetts for Jillian and Evan’s wedding  and so much fun celebrating these two and their love for each other, their family, and friends.

Scott came up to photograph the wedding with me, and his cousin Michelle was in the wedding party, so we stayed up at the hotel the night before the wedding because we had a SUPER EARLY wakeup call of 5AM to start the day with bride prep, details, and groom prep.

Jillian got ready in the salon in the Inn, while Evan got ready in his suite with the guys.  The salon did such an amazing job getting the girls ready so quickly and so EARLY! It was great having them all in one place with multiple artists doing their hair and makeup while I got to photograph Jillian’s details in her room.

And the details were so special! Jillian has a love for butterflies which was incorporated throughout the day, and her grandmother made the ring pillow which had a beautiful butterfly on it. The florals were amazing and made from paper, and her invitations were designed by Michelle, one of her bridesmaids! It was incredible!

After I photographed the details, I went down to the salon where Jillian did a hair and makeup reveal with her mom.  She figured her mom would cry so she made her get ready in another room while Jillian finished hair and makeup so they could do a first look together!  After that, the girls all got ready, and then Jillian got into her beautiful dress from Kleinfeld’s with her Maid of Honor and bridesmaids.

Right after, Jillian’s dad came to the lobby of the Inn for a first look outside with Jillian which of course had a few tears shed, and then Evan came to the porch for his first look with her as well! It was so sweet and I’m so glad that a quiet and reserved couple like them got to have some time just the two of them before the festivities and reception happened.

Following their first look we went right into portraits around the grounds, but due to the frigid temperatures, we were limited outside.  We took a few photos in front of the Inn, and then went inside the library for more portraits! We followed this up with family formals right before the ceremony began.

Their ceremony was filled with love from many family members that spoke, and a sand unity ceremony symbolizing their families coming together as one.  They used sand from each of their favorite beaches which made this ceremony even more special!

After they said I do as husband and wife, the congregation erupted in applause as they walked down the aisle.  They came down and went right outside for some wedding party pictures, and then everyone joined in the cocktail hour in the Inn.

The reception was an early one, starting a little after 12:00 and the band didn’t let that stop them from throwing the BEST dance party around.  The band was incredible and blew me away with their talent!!

Jillian and Evan are amazing together, and when I asked them to share what they love most about each other, Jillian said:

1) He can be so thoughtful about me and others.

2) His close relationship with his parents.

3) How he can relax at the end of the day or on the weekend (and I totally can’t, but he keeps me in check).

Evan said:

1) Her patience with me.

2) How she sees the goodness in everything.

3) Her honesty and how she is helpful to friends.

They were most excited about seeing and celebrating with their family and friends while having a great time with them with their band and I’d have to say all those things got knocked out of the park.

Jillian and Evan, thank you so much for having me be a part of your wedding day, and all the events and time leading up to it.  It has been an absolute pleasure working with both of you from the engagement session to the dinner afterwards to the wedding day and more.  I am so so happy for you both and can’t wait to see what life has in store for you both!! Cheers to many many years of love and happiness!!
