Hi! I'm Laura!

I’m a wedding and brand photographer for creative and adventurous hearts and and your resident work-life balance aficionado. I’m so glad you’re here!
My favorite thing in life is sitting out by my fire-pit with a glass of Riesling and a s’more in hand with friends and family surrounding me. I'm rarely ever found without a warm blanket wrapped around me, and If my wallet didn't frown upon it, I’d probably buy everything in Anthropologie Home and Free People.

On the day of the shoot, I knew I wanted to bring my assistant, Sydney along with me because we had VERY specific shots we wanted to get. I knew it would be way more efficient if I had her manning the shot list and the brand mood board, so she came over and helped me pack some props, and then we headed to meet Austin and his wife, Lily (who helped with the shoot as a model!) at their apartment.

The moment we walked into the common spaces I fell in LOVE. The light was absolutely amazing and the views were unreal! From the 14th floor common space there was a direct view of the Freedom Tower in NYC and the Statue of Liberty. Talk about an amazing building!!

We did all the scenes for indoor working shots in this common space and it had so many different furniture options that we had no problem at all staying in the same space for 2 hours – we got all our solo shots of Austin working, all our detail shots, and a few shots with Austin and Lily working, and even got Sydney into the mix! We got such an amazing variety and I’m SO excited about that!

After we wrapped up indoors, we went down to a local coffee shop – The Lobster Garage where we got a quick scene of Austin working at the tables outside. From there, we went down to the waterfront to get some pictures of Austin with the skyline, and then we meandered the boardwalk along the marina for our final shots of the day.  It was the PERFECT day – it was warm, sunny at all the right times and the whole town was rather empty – so many people still aren’t congregating in outdoor spaces so it felt like we had Jersey City all to ourselves!

Overall, Sydney and I had a freakin’ BLAST working with Austin and Lily and capturing so much great content for Cultivated Culture. We’re looking forward to another session in the future someday and I’m just so excited to see Austin use these images because I know they’re likely going to use every single one!

Austin – you and LIly are truly the BEST. Thank you for being so much fun and so incredible to work with! I truly loved getting to know more about your business and brand, and your vision for the future of it.  You made everything so fun and easy and I’m so grateful we got to work together! Cheers to your success and continued success!! Hope to see you soon!!
