Hi! I'm Laura!

I’m a wedding and brand photographer for creative and adventurous hearts and and your resident work-life balance aficionado. I’m so glad you’re here!
My favorite thing in life is sitting out by my fire-pit with a glass of Riesling and a s’more in hand with friends and family surrounding me. I'm rarely ever found without a warm blanket wrapped around me, and If my wallet didn't frown upon it, I’d probably buy everything in Anthropologie Home and Free People.

Trevor and Sam had their engagement session at Orange County Distillery and it couldn’t be more perfect for these two! I am so grateful for the opportunity to capture the love of two friends of mine! You two are absolutely perfect for one another.

Trevor has been my best friend for too many years to count. When we were younger, we used to spend every moment together, hanging out, fishing, throwing great parties in his backyard, going to country concerts, you name it! When Trevor told me about the amazing woman he started dating, Sam, I was unbelievably excited for him, and of course, also thrilled because I knew her too!

Over the years, I have watched their relationship grow and flourish. I have been SO happy to see them so happy and in love AND even more excited to see them take the next step to become a forever couple!! I knew Trevor was proposing before it happened, and I had a wedding the day it all went down, but Scott and I quickly got out of the reception and drove to the bar to celebrate these two! That was last June, and to tell their story properly, there’s another part of their journey that I think I need to tell you about…

To say this past year has been a challenge is an understatement. After a serious accident at work, Trevor has been at home recovering with the help of Sam, who has been so amazing and supportive through all of this.  Trevor had to go a series of surgeries, doctors appointments, therapy appointments and SO much more over the past year – both mentally and physically, and I have no doubt that without Sam, he wouldn’t have gotten through it.  It is incredible to see how you two build each other up even in the midst of serious struggles. I know you two are just absolutely perfect for each other. I know the wedding will not only be a celebration of your love for one another but also of the hurdles you have jumped over together to get to this point!! Writing that literally makes me cry, because I have seen first hand just how many hurdles you have been through together.

Their Relationship

Trevor and Sam have known OF each other since they were young but didn’t start talking until Trevor reached out on Facebook in July 2011. When Sam didn’t respond, Trevor knew he had to try again. He reached back out in October and Sam finally caved! She agreed to go to a Halloween party that month at Trevor’s house. Since then, they have been an inseparable pair!

Their dating anniversary is actually the night before Halloween. They went to a woods party together in PVL (a lake community in Vernon from those of you who have no clue what I’m talking about!). After they left the party, they went to a friend’s house where they didn’t end up staying long. But, the best part of all was that they had their first kiss in the driveway that night!

The Proposal

In June last year, Trevor invited all of their best friends over on a Saturday afternoon for a backyard party. I had a wedding that day, so I knew I wouldn’t be able to see them until later that night, after everything had happened! Trevor had all of their friends ask Sam to get a beer from the keg. After asking this, they started recording a video and Sam says (not knowing what was going on), “WHEN I get engaged, we’re going to announce it through me pouring a beer out of the keg. WHEN I EVER get engaged.” This was followed by Trevor getting on one knee. It was absolutely perfect timing! They celebrated the amazing (and very funny!) afternoon with all their friends! I am so thrilled that I got to join in the celebration with Scott that evening at Eddie’s Roadhouse. I just love this two and was literally brought to the happiest of tears when this all happened.  I’m SO thrilled that I get to be the one to capture two of my dearest friends on their wedding day. (And during this session, ha!)

Their perfect date together is a night out at Eddie’s Roadhouse with lots of beer! They love going to breweries, singing loudly in the car, going to the beach, watching Netflix, going to concerts and of course summer bonfires! I love doing all those things WITH them too, and am just so thrilled for this two (can I say it enough?!?!) AHHHHH I’M SO EXCITED!

These two are just the BEST! As Trevor would say, they are “100% awesome”. And they really are!! They enjoy good food, beer, friends and family! With everything they have been through together, I know you two can make it through anything together! It’s up from here. I love you guys more than words can express. Thank you for letting me be a part of all of this!
