Hi! I'm Laura!

I’m a wedding and brand photographer for creative and adventurous hearts and and your resident work-life balance aficionado. I’m so glad you’re here!
My favorite thing in life is sitting out by my fire-pit with a glass of Riesling and a s’more in hand with friends and family surrounding me. I'm rarely ever found without a warm blanket wrapped around me, and If my wallet didn't frown upon it, I’d probably buy everything in Anthropologie Home and Free People.

This blog post is almost a half a lifetime in the making.  Katie and Micky’s marriage celebration at Essex County Country Club left me in tears for nearly the entire 4 hours I was there.  Katie and Micky met growing up in Vernon together, and started talking during their senior year of high school.  I did ski team with Micky and knew Katie briefly from the halls, but since they were both a grade older than me, I really didn’t get to know Katie back then!

Their relationship began on a cold day back in high school. Katie was going off roading with her friends in Highland Lakes and invited Micky to come because she had been “eyeing” hims for months. They got stuck a mile back in the woods and it was the day after an ice storm so they walked back together and it’s all history from there. That was 2/17/08 and they started hanging out more and decided to go to prom together. Katie was already accepted to MCPHS University in Boston in December 2007 and Micky was between Boston University and Northeastern by the time they became more serious, so as fate would have it, they both ended up going to college in Boston!

Years later, Micky proposed on a couples trip in Colorado. They were there for a week, and the last day (after Katie had given up all hope of it happening) Micky proposed on their way out of the mountains at Loveland Pass! Gooooooossssh. Perfection.

Together, they truly make two parts of a whole.  Katie, outgoing and extroverted- Micky, more reserved and introverted, they complete one another and truly make an incredible couple. When Micky turned around to see his bride for the first time, I heard the words “STUNNING!” over and over again.  And that’s what Katie is- inside and out, stunning, and beautiful.

They read their own vows, and I don’t know if there was a dry eye in the house. Katie told Micky he made her feel fearless, and together, she knew they could get through anything.

As Katie put it when I asked what they were most excited for about the wedding she said: “We are both most excited to just celebrate our love.  We’ve been together for so long and so many friends and family have been with us through various points and everyone has been waiting for this day for so long, I just feel like it’s going to be such a happy love filled day.”

And Katie? Oh goodness it was.  There was so much love. So so much love, and I’m so thankful I got to witness and be a part of it.

Katie and Micky proved that the only thing you need for a beautiful wedding is love.  In this day and age, it’s easy to get caught up in making everything beautiful- worrying about details, and place settings, and hair and makeup and the shoes, and everything that makes up a wedding day.  But Katie and Micky?  They were solely focuses on everything that makes up a MARRIAGE, and for that, this was one of the most emotional weddings I’ve shot.

Their brothers served as the informal wedding party, Katie wore a white dress from Lulu’s and sneakers underneath, they cut a pancake for their cake and had an omelette and crepe station for their entree.  Everyone cried during their vows, and each person that filled a chair at this wedding meant the world to these two.  I’m really, truly honored I got to be a part of it.

I cried during the vows.  During the parent dances. During Katie’s father’s speech. During the toasts. It was such a love filled day.  There was so much joy, so many emotions, and so much love.

Katie and Micky, I hope you never lose your spark.  You two are clearly soul mates, and I thank you for letting me document your love. I’m wishing you a lifetime and then some of happiness. I hope these pictures help you relive every wonderful moment of your day. <3
