I cannot wait to share this wedding with you because it was unreal!! Liz and Scott’s wedding was a gorgeous summer wedding in New York City I couldn’t have dreamt it up better myself!! I knew I was in for an amazing day after their engagement session last fall. They were not only willing to wake up at sunrise but were full of excitement which made the day awesome! We did it in New York City, just like their wedding, which was amazing to be in, in the fall and I was so excited they had a summer wedding to mix it up from their engagement session!
My day started with meeting Liz at her parents house which was so beautiful! While I was there I shot her details out on the deck and the lighting was perrrfect! Liz had such a unique array of details from personal touches like her great-grandmother’s bracelet, the newspaper from that day, and her stunning jewelry with pops of blue Sapphire. Talk about gorgeous!! Scott’s details were also some of the most unique groom details I’ve ever seen including gears on his cufflinks to show he’s an industrial designer and a unique wedding band as well!
Once the girls finished getting ready we headed in the backyard for some fun group shots! They all had the cutest PJ sets on! Liz of course wore white and the bridesmaids had rose gold on and each top had their monograms on it for a personal touch! We did a bunch of fun photos to end the morning that including popping champagne of course! The girls all got dressed in their navy gowns which looked soooo good on everyone. Then it was time for Liz to get dressed with the help of her mom and her sister. Liz’s Pronovias dress was as elegant as you could get! It was solid white with an open back and beading, it was so beautiful she reminded me of Audrey Hepburn!
After Liz was ready in her gown, she opened her card and gift from Scott and it made her SO happy! He got her sapphire earrings that matched her wedding band to wear that day – so sweet! We then went back outside for her first look with her dad. This was such a sweet moment, and we all know by now I could not hold back the tears!! It was then time to head to the ceremony at a church!
Liz’s dad walked her down the aisle and Scott had THE best reaction ever!! As soon as he saw her, he started crying as his soon to be wife walked down the aisle toward him. IT HAD ME IN TEARS. This was one of the best reactions from a groom I’ve ever seen! After a sweet ceremony we headed to Tarrytown House Estate for their family formals and portraits. These portraits came out beaauuutiful! You can tell just how much of a happy and loving couple Liz and Scott are when they’re together.
We finished up with portraits and we were then headed to the big apple for their reception, everyone loaded up into a limo and off to NYC we went! Their reception was held at the Manhattan Penthouse and OMG it was stunning! The views from the penthouse were amazing you could see absolutely everything! One of the best parts of the reception was the handmade mini bars and a wooden truck that read, “Just married Liz and Scott!” all done by Scott! Like, how cool is that?! All day I was just in awe of all the details put into this wedding!
Once cocktail hour was over the party officially started! Liz and Scott made their entrances with their wedding party and it was so sweet, they had such an awesome group of people around them that day!! Their first dance truly was something to remember. Liz and Scott are so in love and were so happy to finally be married you could just see it on their faces!
Afterwards, Liz’s dad gave a welcome speech which made me (of course) and everyone in the room tear up! Liz’s maid of honor was her sister so her speech was so special to Liz. Scott’s brother was his best man and his speech was so original! When he finished his speech Scott hugged him and yelled, “Dude that was awesome!” Speeches were then followed by first dances which were so sweet. When Liz and Scott were dancing they were singing and dancing so much it was so cute! During the father daughter and the mother son dances, their parents had smiles on their faces the entire time!!
During this whole reception I couldn’t help but keep looking outside every change I got, the view was mesmerizing!! During the reception Liz and Scott had a number of family shots they wanted so we got allll of those done as well. They both have such a big, fun and loving family! You could tell all these photos meant so much to them. This is why I love my job! The night ended with the cake cutting and their cake was so fun! Two of the three tiers were completely coated in sprinkles, it was so pretty!
Liz and Scott, your wedding was literally straight out of a dream. From the custom details, to the views at the penthouse, to the way Scott reacted when Liz walked down the aisle, everything had me smitten and smiling ear to ear all day. I wish you nothing but the best on life’s next adventure in California and it has been a serious joy working with you both over the last year and a half! I love you both immensely and hope our paths will cross again in the future!!
