Hi! I'm Laura!

I’m a wedding and brand photographer for creative and adventurous hearts and and your resident work-life balance aficionado. I’m so glad you’re here!
My favorite thing in life is sitting out by my fire-pit with a glass of Riesling and a s’more in hand with friends and family surrounding me. I'm rarely ever found without a warm blanket wrapped around me, and If my wallet didn't frown upon it, I’d probably buy everything in Anthropologie Home and Free People.

In the company their closest family and friends, Casey and Jack celebrated their wedding this fall at the beautiful Red Tail Lodge at Mountain Creek in Vernon, NJ. With ten years under their belt, Casey and Jack were able to kick off the next chapter of their lives together in style! Every moment of the day was filled with so much love and joy making it such a beautiful and emotional day. I am completely in love with how every photo turned out and cannot wait to share them here today!

I knew these two were the perfect Laura Lee Photography couple when I met up with them for their engagement session earlier this summer at Waywayanda State Park. I just loved how much they incorporated their love for the outdoors in the session. The photos of them floating slowly through the still water at sunset are a-mazing. You can see more of the pictures from their session here!

These two had the best energy and posing style during their engagement session, I knew their wedding day shots would be nothing short of perfection (even with all the rain!) We started the day at Casey’s parent’s house where Casey, her bridesmaids, and her mom got ready together. I love how personal it felt getting ready in the house she grew up in – so comfortable and homey.

Oh my gosh, and Casey’s dress….it was seriously so beautiful. It was a fitted dress with gorgeous beading detail throughout. It had this 1920’s vintage, Great Gatsby feel. Casey wore it so well, it looks stunning on her. And to top it all off, she wore these amazing blue satin shoes that pulled everything together so perfectly.

Before heading over to the church, Casey shared an emotional first look with her Dad. It was so sweet to see her Dad’s face as he saw his daughter in her wedding dress walking down the stairs of the house he watched her grow up in.

Since Casey and Jack didn’t do a first look, they saved the beautiful moment of seeing each other for the first time for the church. Their ceremony was held at St. Gabriel the Archangel in Saddle River, NJ. It had such an airy feel about it with beautiful white accents throughout the church. The moment when the doors opened and Jack saw Casey for the first time was beautiful, emotional, and just perfection!

And the ceremony to follow was equally as personal and beautiful. During the ceremony, the priest said something I will never forget. “You don’t marry someone so you can change them. You marry someone because they’ve changed you and they’ve changed how you see yourself and how you see the world.” Casey and Jack have known each other and grown together for over 10 years and this statement could not be more true for these two.

After the ceremony, Casey and Jack and their bridal party headed directly to the reception venue for portraits, family formals, and bridal party shots. Because of the torrential downpouring rain (all day!), we didn’t get to take any of their photos outside. But luckily since we arrived at the venue well before the guests, we were able to utilize all of the indoors space including the beautiful stone fireplace in the cocktail hour room.

Since I had the opportunity to design their reception venue at my previous design firm 8 years ago, I was able to find some of the smaller, unique details throughout the venue. Not only did it feel so special to shoot in a place that I had such a strong connection to but it also made the “plan B” planning for the rainy day very seamless. With all of the beautiful stone walls and accents around the venue, we were able to get the rustic feel Casey and Jack wanted from of their outdoor pictures inside the venue. And best of all, we were able to get all of their family formals and bridal party shots done before any of the guests even arrived at the cocktail hour!

After cocktail hour, everyone headed into the reception room for dinner, first dances, and toasts. Something that I could not stop thinking all day was how much these two were loved by the people around them. Every single guest there was overjoyed for these two and kept expressing how excited they were for these two to begin the next chapter of their lives together. All of the toasts echoed all of this love and joy for Casey and Jack, the beautiful life they’ve shared together so far and everything they have to look forward to as a married couple.

Once dinner and toasts were finished, it was time to get the party started! Casey and Jack shared a beautiful first dance together as well as dances with their dad and mom respectively before the rest of the guests hit the dance floor. Their band, The Nines, was amazing and had everyone dancing the entire night!

And to top the day and night off, I was able to pull Casey and Jack away for one, super special rainy night shot. I was a little nervous about this at the time but after a closer look, it turned out to be EPIC. I was so happy that we were able to get at least a few great outdoor shots for these two after a day of rain.

Over the years, I’ve met so many amazing couples and I have to say, these two are one of those couples that I leave knowing that they have a lifetime of adventure, joy, and love ahead of them. They are both so kind and sweet to each other, it is so obvious how much they care for one another. I cannot wait to see what the future has in store for these two. Casey and Jack, thank you for letting me a part of your beautiful day and celebration, it was a true honor!
