Hi! I'm Laura!

I’m a wedding and brand photographer for creative and adventurous hearts and and your resident work-life balance aficionado. I’m so glad you’re here!
My favorite thing in life is sitting out by my fire-pit with a glass of Riesling and a s’more in hand with friends and family surrounding me. I'm rarely ever found without a warm blanket wrapped around me, and If my wallet didn't frown upon it, I’d probably buy everything in Anthropologie Home and Free People.

Writing this post during quarantine is definitely making me a bit sad because I truly can’t wait to get back to doing what I love.  I kicked off 2020 with a brand session in Philadelphia and I am so excited to share this with you, because Michelle ROCKED IT. Like honestly, she could be a model – she was a freakin’ natural in front of the camera! BUTTT, her job is behind the camera most days! Michelle is a fellow Wedding Photographer who is based right outside of Philly and it just so happened that I’d be going to Philadelphia for a friend’s baby shower the weekend we were wanting to do her session – so it was literally perfect!

When Michelle reached out to me, I felt so honored that a fellow photographer was entrusting me to capture her session for her!  She said she had never had photos taken of herself and I knew that needed to change stat! We got to brainstorming about her session and we knew that her love of The Office, the outdoors, her plant love, and her obsession with planners had to make it into the session somehow. So we started creating scenes that we would shoot during the session to capture her true personality. What we came up with was two locations: the outdoor Rail Park in Philly and a cute Airbnb!

Since we had good light in the afternoon, we started the session at Rail Park in Philly! Honestly, this place was awesome and I had no idea it was there! I went to school in Philly and I don’t know if it was built after I graduated, but this was such a great spot and so unique! And let me tell you, the second we started our session I knew I was in for a treat with Michelle.  She straight up killed it! Maybe it’s because she’s also a photographer, but I felt like she anticipated every pose I gave her and was completely natural – having fun the whole time.

After a little while at the Rail Park, we went to the Airbnb she rented for part two.  This is where her love of The Office came out! She had a sign that said, “that’s what she said”, a mug that said  “World’s best boss”, and a tee shirt related to Schrute farms. Excuse me while I go purchase all of these things. 😉 But truly, that’s the power of a brand session – we get truly capture the person’s personality, so they have content to connect with their ideal clients.  It’s always so much fun for me to do these sessions and I hope she decides to one every year! 😉

As far as Michelle’s business goes, she is AMAZING and you have to check out her work.  She has a light and airy style to her photography which of course I LOVE and when she reached out to me to get her own photos taken, I knew we were going to hit it off.  She told me she has loved photography since highschool but for the longest time, she didn’t think she could make a career out of it! Sadly, she isn’t the only one who thinks that. But, PEP TALK: if you pour your heart and soul into your business it will flourish!! Luckily, it didn’t take Michelle too long to realize that.

Michelle decided to specialize in weddings because she wanted to take photos for people on the happiest day of their lives that they LOVED.  And ever since starting, she has truly found passion in the people she gets to work with. The heart of her business is the people. Her clients mean everything to her and creating beautiful work that they can swoon over is what motivates her to continue to get better and better! And it shows!! Her work is beyond amazing and I’m just so thankful she trusted me to document her personality so she could let that shine in her business too.

Michelle – you are freakin’ awesome. I can’t wait to see you again and hope we get to do another shoot in the future! Keep killin’ it girl!
