Hi! I'm Laura!

I’m a wedding and brand photographer for creative and adventurous hearts and and your resident work-life balance aficionado. I’m so glad you’re here!
My favorite thing in life is sitting out by my fire-pit with a glass of Riesling and a s’more in hand with friends and family surrounding me. I'm rarely ever found without a warm blanket wrapped around me, and If my wallet didn't frown upon it, I’d probably buy everything in Anthropologie Home and Free People.

After Michelle and John’s engagement session I was super excited for their wedding day to come and let me tell you, it did not disappoint!! Michelle and John are so much fun I LOVED getting to know them during their engagement session, we spent the session quoting The Office, talking about growing up, careers, college and everything in between! If you haven’t seen their session yet at Deep Cut Gardens check that out here first. I was anticipating this wedding so much so I was so excited when the day came and I got to celebrate with these two and their family and friends!

Our day started at the Hilton at Pearl River, and when I arrived the girls were basically all ready which was soooo helpful!! The bridal suite there had so much light it was a photographer’s dream. Since the color of her bridesmaid dresses were so gorgeous I shot all of the bridal details on one of the dresses on the floor, the greyish blue color was perfect! Michelle’s Badgley Mischka shoes were stunning the way they wrapped up her ankles. And oh my gosh her dress. Michelle’s dress was SO beautiful!! The detail was so unique and she had “Mrs. Michelle Doherty 7/06/2019” stitched on the inside in blue writing.

Michelle’s mom, sister and one of her bridesmaids helped her into her dress and when she looked in the mirror she couldn’t believe this was finally happening!!  She was so excited to see John! After all the girls were ready, John’s son Jack came in to see Michelle and give her a gift from John. John gave her earrings which she immediately put on and looooved! Michelle then went for the first look with her dad. It was filled with so many tears from her, her dad, her mom and basically the whole bridal party!! (and me of course)

It was finally time for the first look with John! We got him into position and Michelle came out crying as she was walking up to him, it was such a sweet moment. When John turned around, he had the biggest smile on his face when he got his first look at his soon to be wife!! It was so hot that day, we ended up changing our timeline up and took family formals inside which came out beautifully! Afterwards we ventured back into the heat to take wedding party pictures. These had to be quick because everyone was dripping in sweat but this couldn’t ruin Michelle and John’s special day! Since it began to rain we had to take Michelle and John’s first set of portraits inside, but the long hallway we were in created such great depth they came out beautifully!

Next it was time for the ceremony which had so many great moments! Michelle and John had the CUTEST flower girl. She had just learned to walk and made it all the way down the aisle! Jack then came down the aisle with ring security around him which was SO funny!! Finally Michelle came down the aisle and John just couldn’t keep his eyes off her. Their officiant was hilarious he had the whole room laughing!! Michelle not only read vows to John but his son Jack. Michelle asked him when they got engaged if she could marry his dad and he said “Only if you bring me sour cream and onion chips” so she did. She gave him a bag of sour cream and onion chips during the ceremony! They then shared their first kiss and walked down the aisle with huge smiles!!

During cocktail hour I stole Michelle for more portraits outside since the rain stopped. These came out sooo cute and was totally worth all the sweating!! After all the delicious cocktail hour food it was time for Michelle and John’s first entrance as husband and wife! Jack came in with his ring security again and it had everyone laughing, Jack could not stop dancing! Then when Michelle and John walked in everyone was cheering for them! They shared a really sweet first dance followed by a dance with Michelle and her dad, and John and his mom. Michelle’s dad then gave a welcome speech and you could tell he was truly speaking from his heart! Michelle’s sister was up next for a speech which was just as heartfelt. John’s brother gave his speech and it was SO funny he had even gotten the band in on it!

All night absolutely EVERYONE was dancing. They were dancing so hard someone broke a glass on the dance floor! The band they had was SO amazing, everyone was in shock of how talented they were! While everyone was partying away, I stole Michelle and John one last time for night portraits and they came out so beautiful! The fountain at the venue changed colors which added such a fun element to their portraits!

Michelle and John, what an amazing night this was!! Thank you so much for letting me get to know you and share your special day. I know your marriage will be filled with just as much delicious food, love, friendship and laughter as your wedding was! I am SO happy for you two and hope you enjoy your happily ever after!!
